The human rights hearing that is the subject of this index page concerns the case of Richard Warman v. Marc Lemire over some alleged “hateful” postings on Mr. Lemire’s discussion board, Stormfront.org. Mr. Warman filed an official complaint with the Canadian Human Rights Commission over the content of some of the postings on Mr. Lemire’s board which eventually led to a long and protracted case before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.
This particular hearing concerned the operating tactics of two CHRC investigators, Dean Stacey, the lead investigator at the CHRC, and his associate at the Star Chamber, Ms. Hannya Rizk. The Commission lawyers had invoked S. 37 of the Canada Evidence Act in order to avoid answering some embarrassing questions posed in a previous hearing nearly one year before. The CHRC threatened to remove themselves from the hearing if the tribunal judge in the case did not ban the public from the hearing. Marc Lemire, the respondent in the case, then went to a real court and effectively forced the Commission to drop their bogus objections.
The reports below (complete with audio clips of the hearing) detail the outrageous and illegal operating tactics of the CHRC which were divulged during the March 25, 2008 hearing in Ottawa at the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal.
