When someone complains about ruining their day, this is what I would have said:

Oh….I’m sorry if I disturbed your Summer holiday…but the Gas Chambers are just down the street a couple of blocks.  We feel kind of uncomfortable about that.  If you do too, please join us in letting people know what’s going on.  Danke schön.
