The Great Canadian Wish List

The Great Canadian Wish List was an exercise of the CBC to solicit the opinions of Canadians on the relevant issues of the day, and to discover what Canadians greatest wish would be for their country. Much to their collective chagrin, however, the so-called dead issues of abortion and same-sex “marriage” were front and center among the contest’s participants. When the contest concluded, the “Abolish Abortion” wish was ahead by over 1500 votes. The results of the first five wishes at 12:00am, Sun. July 1 were as follows:

I wish tuition fees would be either lowered or eliminated
Aside from the abortion issue, three of the top four wishes were social conservative ones. If Canada is such a socially liberal country, then why were three of the four top wishes so socially conservative? SoCon Or Bust was there to cover all the action and encourage people to vote. (07.06)
