The countdown is on to a Dec. 1 D-Day for the next five years of funding for the Canadian bishops’ international development agency.
The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace has been quietly working the past two years on its proposal to spend almost $50 million of Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) money over the next five years. CIDA is full of pro-abort ideologues. It will be interesting to see just how D&P’s new “consultation process” with the local bishops of the Global South is going to mesh with CIDA’s possible pressure to push for “abortion rights”.
But we might not “see” anything. Why? Because D&P won’t release the identity of all or most of the groups which they are funding.
“Give us the money and flock off.” That’s basically the sentiment.
We want the names, Bishops. It’s called transparency. And it’s a necessary step to restoring credibilty.
No names? No credibility. That’s how it works.
