Abortion Derangement Syndrome During the Superbowl Becomes Epidemic Among Pro-Aborts

February 8th, 2010 - Posted by Pacheco

It’s when you hate unborn life so much that anything and everything that even remotely broaches the sacred cow of abortion must be condemned.

These people are so unstable and bizarre that they need a padded room so they don’t hurt themselves.  They’re the kind of people who, when driving down the road, yell and honk like some lunatic when they see one of those “Baby on Board” signs and claim that the offending vehicle is against “choice”.

The Superbowl ad (featured below) was so deliciously not-about-abortion that it made the feminists cows over at NOW look like a bunch of deranged psychos that they had to flip the switch and claim it was about…wait for it now..wait for it… violence against women.

“I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it,” said NOW’s Terry O’Neill, according to the LA Times. “That’s what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don’t find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself.” (Source)

From a PR move, it was totally brilliant.  Knowing full well the voluminous cackles that it would come its way, FOCUS on the Family floated something so innocuous that anyone who objected to it so vigorously as the NOW gals did would be rightly considered a bunch of paranoid retards.

And, boy, did they hit that objective in spades.

Touchdown for the Pro-Lifers.

It’s now 7-0:  6 points for the evoking the paranoid reaction and the 1 point conversion for the actual ad.

Greetings Your Grace,

I want to commend you on your criticism of the recent comments made by Michael Ignatieff  who recently advocated for including abortion and “reproductive rights” in Prime Minister Harper’s initiative of improving maternal and infant health in the developing world.

While your rebuke of Mr. Ignatieff’s position is most welcome by the pro-life community, it nevertheless does raise questions about the involvement of the Canadian bishops’ own development and aid agency, Development & Peace,  in supporting pro-abortion groups.

On the one hand, you rebuke a Canadian politician for advocating for pro-abortion policies in the developing world (even going so far as to offer him some political wisdom on the issue), while on the other hand, you and your brother bishops continue to financially support groups in the Global South which are doing far worse damage to the pro-life cause than Mr. Ignatieff will ever do.

The only difference between Mr. Ignatieff and Development & Peace’s pro-abort partners, your Grace, is that the latter receives your generous funding endowments while the former gets (rightfully) the back of your hand.

If it is “pathetic”, as you say, for a political leader to suggest that abortion be tied to the health of women and children, how is it any less pathetic for the bishops of this country to support pro-abort groups who are advocating for the same thing?

Without out prejudice, your Grace, you would do well to find some internal consistency in the church’s witness, and reflect carefully on your judgement against Mr. Ignatieff and how that applies with the Canadian church’s own scandalous actions in regards to pushing abortion in the third world.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Pat, I agree with you. But I will also say that your anti-Christian sensibilities are part of the problem too.

Freedom needs truth, as you most insightfully point out in your clip. But truth cannot be found in relativism, as you also point out.

If relativism is phoney, then one opinion is not as good as another which means there is only one truth…and if it’s not Islam, then what is it?

Pat, my friend, your heritage and culture was built on Judeo-Christian principles, not the least of which was a respect for faith, freedom, and family.

Your libertarian friends are not reproducing. They are a dying breed. They don’t believe in reproduction or have any real hope. Their faith is in narcissism, euthanasia, and self-worship.

Go back to your heritage or let the next Babylonian captivity begin.  It’s your choice.

Choose wisely.

+Fred Tells Iggy That His Pro-Abort Position is Pathetic

February 6th, 2010 - Posted by Pacheco

Calgary Bishop Fred Henry on Friday called Mr. Ignatieff’s proposal “pathetic,” while on Thursday Archbishop Thomas Collins of Toronto labelled the Liberal leader’s position on abortion and the developing world “sad.”

“In light of the many positive contributions that Canada can make to the improvement of maternal and child health, it is astonishing that the leader of the Opposition has issued an official statement advocating contraception and abortion as fundamental elements in addressing this important issue,” said Archbishop Collins. “Even those who think that abortion should be allowed do not, however, propose it as a positive contribution to the good of society.”

Bishop Henry was even more blunt.

“I thought it was pathetic for a political leader to suggest that abortion is somehow tied to the health of women and children,” said Bishop Henry. “It was a particularly crass remark in light of all the orphaned children we now see in Haiti. It was absolutely incredible that he would say that and he is alienating religious people with these comments. This will not win him votes.”

As a 22-year-old Canadian woman, I felt I needed to inform Ignatieff that there is by no means a Canadian consensus in favour of abortion. I believe that it is scientifically indisputable that abortion is the act of terminating a human life.

We should all be committed to improving conditions for women in Canada and around the world so that no mother is ever in such a desperate situation that she feels forced to abort her child.
In the 1988, the very year I was born, the Supreme Court of Canada struck down our country’s abortion law and Parliament has since failed to pass any bill at all on abortion.
Abortion on demand became legal and funded by taxpayer’s dollars even up to the ninth month of pregnancy in Canada not because that is the will of all Canadians but rather because of political cowardice.
According to a new Angus Reid public opinion poll, only 20 per cent of Canadians are aware of the current status quo of abortion in Canada. When informed about existing regulations, only 30 per cent endorsed them. This hardly amounts to a consensus.
I can even offer further evidence that the pro-life position exists in our country. Last night, the Ottawa Students for Life hosted Andrea Mrozek, who spoke on the very topical subject of whether being pro-life is antithetical to being pro-woman.
Let’s focus on saving the lives of women and children, not exporting abortion to other countries.

If Harper didn’t set this up, it’s worked well for him nonetheless. Iggy is slowly finding out that abortion is not the passport to power it once was.  By the end of this exercise, he’ll get the message. You’ll see.

But I still believe that Steve set Iggy up.  And it’s working rather well.

p.s. Here’s another one.  Hit the reverse button, Iggy.

In recent years, the abortion rights lobby has adopted the position of opposing in principle public expression of pro-life views. It used to be that the abortion rights lobby sought to prohibit pro-life speech only in narrow contexts. Abortion clinics, for example, obtained injunctions banning protests outside their doors. But the effort to remove anti-abortion speech from the public square has broadened considerably.

The most heavy-handed censorship tactics appear on university campuses, where pro-life student organizations are denied the status of official clubs. When pro-choice student leaders at Toronto’s York University learned that other students had organized a debate over the ethics of abortion, they promptly cancelled it, even though the event had been booked and the flyers printed. The president of York’s graduate students’ association said it was “not acceptable” to debate abortion because, in Canada, the “debate is over,” in the sense that abortion is legal.

….

One of the most controversial news events of 2008 was the induction of Henry Morgentaler, the well known abortion doctor, into the Order of Canada. The Citizen’s esteemed political cartoonist Cam Cardow produced a cartoon that featured rows of tiny Order of Canada medals. The caption went something like: These belong to the aborted babies who never grew up to win the Order of Canada.

It was a hard-hitting cartoon, with an unmistakable pro-life view — and therefore a cartoon that some pro-choice readers thought had no business seeing the light of day. They called it hate speech. Furious, they couldn’t believe that editors here didn’t rip up the cartoon the moment Cam drew it.

They’re hanging themselves, and they’re even doing it in the pro-abort media.  It’s absolutely delicious.

Anything that is remotely seen as pro-life – even an innocuous ad of a woman saying she was glad she made the right decision about her baby – is seen as “hate speech” by these lunatics.

Keep going pro-aborts, you’re doing a smashing job at completely smearing your own reputations and the “choice” rhetoric you’ve used for years.

And we don’t even have to say a word. We just need to sit back, enjoy the football game, and look forward to Half Time.

Pass the popcorn, dear. It’s going to be the most interesting Super Bowl in memory.

Hern and Harris chose to stay in the abortion business; one of the first doctors to change his allegiance was Paul Jarrett, who quit after only 23 abortions. His turning point came in 1974, when he performed an abortion on a fetus at 14 weeks’ gestation: “As I brought out the rib cage, I looked and saw a tiny, beating heart,” he would recall. “And when I found the head of the baby, I looked squarely in the face of another human being—a human being that I just killed.”

In 1990 Judith Fetrow, an aide at a Planned Parenthood clinic, found that disposing of fetal bodies as medical waste was more than she could bear. Soon after she left her position, Fetrow described her experiences: “No one at Planned Parenthood wanted this job. .  .  . I had to look at the tiny hands and feet. There were times when I wanted to cry.” Finally persuaded to quit by a pro-life protester outside her clinic, Fetrow is now involved in the American Life League.

Kathy Sparks is another convert formerly responsible for disposing of fetal remains, this time at an Illinois abortion clinic. Her account of the experience that led her to exit the abortion industry (taken from the Pro-Life Action League website in 2004) reads in part:

The baby’s bones were far too developed to rip them up with [the doctor’s] curette, so he had to pull the baby out with forceps. He brought out three or four major pieces. .  .  . I took the baby to the clean up room, I set him down and I began weeping uncontrollably. .  .  . I cried and cried. This little face was perfectly formed.

….

Handling fetal remains can be especially difficult in late-term clinics. Until George Tiller was assassinated by a pro-life radical last summer, his clinic in Wichita specialized in third-trimester abortions. To handle the large volume of biological waste Tiller had a crematorium on the premises. One day when hauling a heavy container of fetal waste, Tiller asked his secretary, Luhra Tivis, to assist him. She found the experience devastating. The “most horrible thing,” Tivis later recounted, was that she “could smell those babies burning.” Tivis, a former NOW activist, soon left her secretarial position at the clinic to volunteer for Operation Rescue, a radical pro-life organization.

….

This handful of stories is representative of many more. In fact, with the exception of communism, we can think of few other movements from which so many activists have defected to the opposition….(Source)

Trajectory.  The abortion biz is like the tower of Babel. She’s coming down, folks. She’s coming down.

Pope Benny Cleaning House

February 6th, 2010 - Posted by Pacheco

…In a speech that was short on the usual diplomatic expressions of camaraderie and harmony, the pope hinted at tensions in the relationship between the bishops of Scotland and the Holy See. Speaking of the link between the world’s dioceses and the See of Peter as the “reality that lies at the heart of every Catholic diocese,” the pope said that “pastoral initiatives that take due account of this essential dimension bring authentic renewal.”

“When the bonds of communion with the universal Church, and in particular with Rome, are accepted joyfully and lived fully, the people’s faith can grow freely and yield a harvest of good works,” Benedict added.

The pope illustrated his theme by reminding the bishops of the life of Saint John Ogilvie, the 16th century Scottish convert and martyr who was arrested in 1614 and hanged and disembowelled after torture for his refusal to give up the Catholic faith and revert to Protestantism. In 1560 it had become illegal and a capital offence to preach, proselytise for, or otherwise endorse Catholicism.

Catholic commentators have not missed the note of correction in Pope Benedict’s remarks to the bishops of Britain. John Smeaton, head of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children said the pope’s “strong words” were welcome by many laity who have long seen themselves as alone in the fight against the rising tide of anti-religious legislation in Britain.

“The Pope’s warnings and directions about dissent from Church teaching on life and family issues will be greatly appreciated by countless ordinary Catholic and non-Catholic citizens in Britain,” Smeaton said.

“They are distressed by the undermining of Catholic pro-life and pro-family witness by influential clergy, laity, bodies and publications at home and abroad.”

Many Catholic laity have complained of the laxity of the Church leadership on sexual issues as well as abortion, contraception and euthanasia. As the pope was delivering his address in Rome, in Scotland the notorious dissenting theologian, Professor Thomas Groome of Boston College, a laicised priest, is scheduled to deliver a lecture at St. Aloysius’s College in Glasgow, supported by the Archdiocese of Glasgow and the Scottish Catholic Education Service.

Groome is a “guru” of the post-1960s style of “experiential” catechetics and has openly opposed Catholic doctrine on the authority of the pope and magisterium and the limiting of the priesthood to celibate men. Influenced by the Chilean Marxist Paulo Freire, Karl Rahner and Leonardo Boff, he has written that he “suspects” divine revelation, the authority of the papacy and the ministerial priesthood and the sacraments. Groome’s books have been banned in at least one diocese – the Archdiocese of Sydney, which is under Cardinal George Pell. (Source)

Pope Benedict is cleaning house. The comments above regarding the “bonds of communion” is churchspeak for “You guys are a bunch of pseudo schismatics.  Get with the program, boys, because unless you do, you will continue on your path of self-destruction.”

God has provided us with a pastor for the ages.  He has raised up a meek and holy man to put the boots to liberalism.  Thanks be to God!

As for the liberal wing of the church, its days are officially numbered.

Ciao baby.

“To Mr. Pacheco: You are right.”

February 5th, 2010 - Posted by Pacheco

Hello Mr. Pacheco,

I witnessed some of the disappointing activities of Catholic priests and nuns in El Salvador in the 80s. They went from hiding Cuban mercenaries to delivering guns inside of bags filled with powdered milk; all of these people needed the milk and the priests needed the people to fight in order to establish a government and a system which they considered more just (Fidel Castro’s style). They were very involved with the communists’ rebels and taught and preached the theology of liberation. It appears to be that often, whether is supporting abortion or preaching the theology of liberation, Catholics, liberal Mennonites, and others went on the wrong direction. I strongly believe in empowering individuals assisting them with education, vocational training, and anything that will improve their lives. I just do not agree with inciting people who are struggling on different aspects of their lives, to kill, and destroy free enterprise in the name of social justice. Monsignor Romero, is an example of Catholics who have been elevated to the category of saints, which was as wrong as nominating Obama for the Nobel Peace Prize, and who mislead so many innocent people who had no knowledge or knew nothing about the difference between serving God or a narcissist guerrilla delivering false promises (and dressed as a priest or a worker from a socialist organization). A steady pace is needed regardless of opposition; to continue to stand for what is right on God’s eyes. Every little voice becomes that strength which is the will of the people. I commend you for your work in Canada against abortion and for your courageous standing for what is right.

Harper Played Iggy Like A Violin

February 5th, 2010 - Posted by Pacheco

On Tuesday, Michael Ignatieff, the Liberal Party leader, made some really stupid comments about abortion. He was responding to Harper’s proposed maternal health initiative for women in the developing world.  Apparently, Iggy thought that he could score some political points by insisting that unborn babies be permitted to be torn from limb to limb:

In a press scrum following a lengthy Liberal caucus meeting Ignatieff expanded on the theme, noting that during “the Bush regime” federal funds were prohibited from groups which performed or advocated for abortion. “We don’t want us to go that way,” Ignatieff said. “We want to make sure that women have access to all the contraceptive methods available to control their fertility because we don’t want to have women dying because of botched procedures, we don’t want to have women dying in misery.”

The release says: “Liberals are concerned that Stephen Harper’s maternal health initiative will not fund organizations that advance women’s rights to reproductive choice and access to birth control.” Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff is quoted as saying, “So we want a clear commitment that women’s reproductive rights – and the organizations that promote them – will not be jeopardized by the Conservative caucus.”

Claiming to speak for the entire Liberal caucus, Ignatieff praised Harper’s maternal health initiative, but added that “the one thing we feel very strongly about is that if you are going to do that and do it seriously, the full range of access to reproductive health services should be made available.”  Asked for clarification that he meant abortion, Ignatieff said, “We’ve had a pro-choice consensus in this area for a couple of generations and we want to hold it.” (Source)

When Harper proposed the initiative, the political and cynical side of me was thinking, “Harper is setting Iggy up to ensure Iggy doesn’t attract back the Catholic vote“.  And sure enough,  Iggy took the bait.   And now he has earned the rebuke of the Archbishop of Toronto.  Whatever the Liberal Party establishment may think of the Catholic Church, it’s not good politics to upset the constituency you are trying to win back to secure electoral victory.

Harper and Ignatieff hold basically the same position on abortion, and both of them know, that it’s one of those slippery issues that can derail a campaign.  In the past, the “abortion noose” has always been around the Conservative neck, but these days, with the tide turning against abortion, the noose has slipped off the Tories and is now encircling the Grits.  If they insist on pushing abortion on the third world even more than Canada already does now, the Liberals risk alienating a constituency which is key to their electoral success.  That’s why Chretien and Dion were very careful about what they said about the issue.  They said it quietly and very rarely.

Harper played Ignatieff like a finely tuned violin.  Harper has a very good “feel” for where abortion is right now.  He senses that it is starting to slide in popularity, so if he can push his political opponent into promoting something with no political upside (only downside), then he’ll have succeeded very well indeed.

Little did Iggy know that his comments will only make it that much harder to win back the constituency that he needs to secure power.

Battle Turning Our Way

February 5th, 2010 - Posted by Pacheco

Folks, as we look around today, we see the pro-abortion forces having the upper hand in so many ways.  But just like the calm before the storm, this is largely an illusory phenomenon. The real thing to look for is the momentum and the trajectory.  I liken this situation to a game where you see one team winning by a fairly comfortable margin, but then you notice that the losing team has started to put the pressure on and you get the feeling that it’s just a matter of time before they pop a few goals in and start to overtake their opponent.

It’s the same thing here. For 40 years, the pro-aborts have had the run of the place. But now, we’re starting to shake things up and our opponents don’t like it much. They like the status quo. They don’t want us disturbing their sacred cows.    Well, the cows are now starting to get restless because they know that they’re going to be steak on the pro-life plate in the not too distant future.

1. Development & Peace

2. Catholic Campaign for Human Development

3. March for Life

4. Tim Tebow

5. Kelowna Right to Life

The above list is just a small sample of the tremblings of a major earthquake coming.  Nothing is going to stop this.  It’s a pro-life revolution.  And the great thing is, the main stream media refuse to cover it, which makes the pro-abort demise even more imminent that it would otherwise be.

Abortion is not going to go out with a bang, but a sad little whimper.

So, keep your heads up, everyone.   The battle is beginning to turn our way.
