Fortunately for Ottawa, the Senators won’t be making the Stanley Cup finals anytime soon.

The only thing worse than an anarchist is a drunk anarchist. They’ll use any excuse to rouse a crowd into madness.

As I write this, my eyes are stinging, my is throat sore, having breathed in some sort of dispersal chemical that police deployed — in desperation, and perhaps too late. There could be some residual effect from having inhaled acrid, toxic smoke from burning cars, exploding cars, destroyed by lunatics still running crazy on the city’s downtown streets.

Blood in our streets. I saw people on the ground, bleeding. Shattered glass everywhere. Police cars set alight. Major bridges are now closed, preventing public access into the downtown core. Transit is plugged up, there’s no way out. More police and fire crews are arriving, from the suburbs, but again, it seems too late.

And as I write this, the sun has just set. Vancouver, what a disgrace.

The United Church continues to press the “self-destruct” button with all the vigor of a teenager pulling the trigger on an arcade machine. Sadly, it’s working. Membership at the United Church of Canada is falling off a cliff. Yet, they “press on” (pun intended) with their efforts to “blur the boundaries between religion and the broader society.”

Recently, the Moderator of the United Church said that she wants to “help heal creation” by reducing humankind’s “carbon footprint.” Good grief. How about reducing humankind’s sin footprint ? But I guess when the Moderator refuses to state the minimum that her members should believe, the whole notion of sin becomes as obsolete as the Hula Hoop.

…My generation has seen the decay of ordinary morality, standards of decency, sportsmanship, politeness, respect for the law, family values, politics and education and religion, the very character of the British.

Oh how Blimpish this must sound to modern ears, how out of date, how blind to “the need for change and the novelty of a new age”. But don’t worry about me. It’s the present generation with their permissive society, their anything-goes philosophy, and their generally laid-back, inyerface attitude I feel sorry for.

They regard themselves as a completely liberated society when in fact they are less free than any generation since the Middle Ages.

Indeed, there may never have been such an enslaved generation, in thrall to hang-ups, taboos, restrictions and oppressions unknown to their ancestors (to say nothing of being neck-deep in debt, thanks to a moneylender’s economy).

We were freer by far 50 years ago – yes, even with conscription, censorship, direction of labour, rationing, and shortages of everything that nowadays is regarded as essential to enjoyment.

We still had liberty beyond modern understanding because we had other freedoms, the really important ones, that are denied to the youth of today.

We could say what we liked; they can’t. We were not subject to the aggressive pressure of special interest minority groups; they are. We had no worries about race or sexual orientation; they have. We could, and did, differ from fashionable opinion with impunity, and would have laughed PC to scorn, had our society been weak and stupid enough to let it exist.

We had available to us an education system, public and private, that was the envy of the world. We had little reason to fear being mugged or raped (killed in war, maybe, but that was an acceptable hazard).

Our children could play in street and country in safety. We had few problems with bullies because society knew how to deal with bullying and was not afraid to punish it in ways that would send today’s progressives into hysterics.

We did not know the stifling tyranny of a liberal establishment, determined to impose its views, and beginning to resemble George Orwell’s Ministry of Truth. …(Source)

Brave new world.

Video game companies have been in the business of producing violent, sex-crazed and gruesome games for many years now, but I don’t recall ever seeing them purposely flaunt and even challenge parental authority in the way this Electronic Arts is currently doing.

Watch the video below, which shows the reactions of real moms (not actresses) when shown the video game being marketed to their kids.  They use the mom’s disgust and disapproval as a selling point for the teens. The company even setup a website called YourMomHatesThis.com. On YouTube, you can find many videos zeroing-in on the reactions of individual women during the focus group sessions. It’s very condescending that they would mock and disseminate the frightened reactions of these women.

Ever since the Fall, kids have been rebelling against their parents. But that doesn’t make it a good thing. Nor does it make sense that a corporation should purposely market a product on the basis that it allows you to do something that your parents would disapprove.

Get a life. Please, let parents raise their kids.

Isn’t feminism such a glorious thing?  Have you ever heard a feminist speak out against pornography? Maybe they should give it some thought. Read the interview of former porn actress Jennifer Case.

She says she was traumatized, oppressed and abused, and was hooked on drugs and needed the money from porn to continue to afford them.  Physically she had to deal with sexually transmitted diseases: “I had so many different infections all of the time. I left Hollywood because I became so ill from Chlamydia. My abdomen hurt so much I had to come back home,” she said. (Source)

Pope Benedict recently issued an ominous warning about the future of the world.  John Pacheco has been warning of this collapse for some time.

The multibillion-dollar porn industry located in the San Fernando valley of southern California has been thrown into crisis after one of its performers tested positive for HIV. The discovery was made at the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation, AIM, a clinic that carries out mandatory testing for about 1,200 porn actors in the valley every month. The clinic has refused to reveal the gender of the performer or which studio he or she worked for, but it has started to track down all other actors known to have been exposed and is now quarantining them until they can also be tested….read the rest here.

One of the last taboos in sexual health is to be tackled by the BBC in an hour-long film presented by the film star Jaime Winstone. The investigation tackles the link between oral sex and rising numbers of mouth and throat cancer cases among young Britons – described this weekend as “an emerging epidemic” by a Cancer Research UK expert. Rates of oral cancers have gone up by 50% in men since 1989 and are rising by 3% a year in women, even as smoking, once thought to be the major cause, declines. Did you know that May is Masturbation Month?

Perhaps you already knew this. However, in researching on the Internet, I found out that Planned Parenthood Ottawa was responsible for organizing the pro-abortion protesters. How do I know this? I can’t find it on their website now, but yesterday they had pictures posted on their website showing them making their signs to be used during the March for Life. Today when I looked, there is a picture of some of them holding their signs. I recognized some of their faces from the march. The uninformed public and media may think they represent the views of the Canadian public, but no, it is Planned Parenthood’s view alone. The public are like sheep and need to be educated. Did you notice, once the public knows the truth, they march for life, not for abortion? The website is utterly disgusting (www.ppottawa.ca). I won’t mention what they are promoting at Venus Envy as soon as you enter the site. What makes me angry is that the City of Ottawa and United Way are funding them. How does one go about lobbying the City of Ottawa and United Way to take a look at what Planned Parenthood is promoting and ask them if this is good use of their charitable dollars and helpful to Ottawa? I know both the City of Ottawa and United Way do help the poor and other good causes, but this filth?

Unless countered by vigorous instruction at home, no children in the last several decades have left school believing their sexuality has a higher purpose than giving them bodily pleasure. From adolescence they have been encouraged by sex educators — no, pressured — to maximize sexual pleasure (but with condoms!), and made to feel abnormal if they prefer chastity to sex without love or commitment. What’s so good about that?

TORONTO, Ontario, April 20, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Leaders from various family-focused groups, together representing over 100,000 active members, are calling for Premier Dalton McGuinty to withdraw the new Ontario Sex Education Curriculum that is set to be implemented this September.  The leaders are organizing Ontario parents to protest the new program by withdrawing their children from school on May 10th, the Monday after Mother’s Day, and joining a proposed rally at 12:00 noon in Toronto.

Dr. Charles McVety, President of Canada Christian College, stated that “it is unconscionable to teach 8 year-old children [about] same-sex marriage, sexual orientation and gender identity.  It is even more absurd to subject 6th graders to instruction on the pleasures of masturbation [and] vaginal lubrication, and 12 year-olds to lessons on oral sex and anal intercourse.” Read the rest of this entry »

TORONTO, Ontario, March 1, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – As of next year, Grade 6 students in Ontario’s publicly-funded schools can expect to be taught that masturbation “is common and is not harmful and is one way of learning about your body,” according to a newly-revised curriculum document released by the Ministry of Education.

The Ministry put out its new Health and Physical Education curriculum for grades 1 to 8 in January, and a spokesperson has confirmed to LifeSiteNews (LSN) that the new curriculum will be mandatory for all schools, Catholic and public, in September 2010.  The high school curriculum will be released this spring, and will be mandatory as of September 2011.  At this point, it is unclear, however, whether Catholic schools are to be forced into teaching elements that violate Catholic teaching. A Chinese baby’s life is wasting away at the will of her parents, and a public outcry has resulted from their decision.

The child, who was born in January 12 in Tianjin, China, suffers a handicap that could easily be corrected through surgery. Steven Mosher, president of the Population Research Institute (PRI), says there is good reason to believe that will not happen.
 
“Her parents – because she is a girl, and because they want another child, a boy, and because they want a perfect child like the Chinese government tells all Chinese they should have – have decided to sentence her to death,” Mosher explains.
 
Baby Mei has been placed in a “dying room.” She is being given no assistance whatsoever and is not expected to live to see her one-month birthday. Most families in the People’s Republic of China are limited to just one baby, and local officials are responsible for overseeing that policy.
 
“This is a legal baby under the Chinese one-child policy, but of course the officials who are under pressure to meet their quotas are happy to see babies die because that makes it easier for them to please their superiors by keeping the birth rate down,” Mosher notes. “So they’ve refused to intervene to help this little girl.”
 
The PRI president is hopeful Americans will tell the Chinese that the practice is barbaric and should end – and they can do so, he suggests, by contacting the Chinese Embassy in Washington, DC. (Source)
