As a lover of history, I wondered about Henry VIII. I couldn’t believe someone so reportedly terrible could really be all bad. He had to have some humanity somewhere, right? I decided to dig and find it. He was maligned, I was convinced of it. During these studies, I finally truly became aware of what Protestantism was, or so I thought. I also couldn’t understand why Katherine of Aragon or any self respecting woman could tolerate his behavior. Then I discovered she was Catholic and cringed. Still, why was she also so unswervingly loyal to an oppressive church that hated women? (Source)

The paths to the Catholic Church are wide and varied.   What feminists really want is what they hate the most.  And yet, this lost daughter of the Kingdom found her home, once all the lies were brushed away.

Because, you know, a sterilized government feminist who has no kids but just really knows what’s good for your kids, is always a better judge than parents.

Another branch of social justice gone complete bonkers.

WE must, therefore, awaken the highest concern for attempts to redefine the understanding of marriage and the family, especially by the advocates of a gender ideology and publicized by certain elements of the media. In view of the increasing attacks of this ideology aimed at different areas of family and social life we feel compelled on one side to firmly and unequivocally stand in defense of the Christian family and the fundamental values that it protects and, on the other, to warn against the dangers of promoting a new type of forms family life.
The gender ideology is the result of decades of ideological and cultural transformation, strongly rooted in Marxism and neo-Marxism, promoted through certain elements of the feminist movement, as well as the sexual revolution. Genderism promotes principles completely contrary to reality and the integral understanding of human nature. It claims that sex – biologically understood – does not have a social basis, and that before all else, it is cultural, which a person may individually fashion and define irrespective of biological determinants. According to this ideology, a person may: determine whether one is a man or a woman; may also freely choose their sexual orientation. This voluntary self-determination, which does not have to remain static, is to lead to a society that accepts the right to create new types of family, for example, built on a union of a homosexual character.

This is truly an example of political correctness gone mad. Rather than set the physical requirements for Marines in accordance with the operational requirements for a soldier on a battlefield, they seem more concerned with setting lower standards that allow more women to get in. Uh oh.  Feminists will not be happy.

Kind of explodes the imposed wisdom that women and men are the same.

Maybe we are not free from the need to be recognized. When a woman is completely at peace with herself, is completely fulfilled, she doesn’t need to be recognized and she can take a step back, not in the sense of being a doormat but of being completely able to be the column.”

Preach it, sister!  Like its counterpart in today’s little-man world, feminists want to be so small-minded too.  This book simply exposes the obvious about them. That’s why they hate it so much.

This woman is probably possessed with seven demons, or a feminist…same difference.

While I probably disagree with much of what Camille Paglia has written over the years, she has some profound insight on how man-hating within the feminist movement is detrimental to women.

A peevish, grudging rancor against men has been one of the most unpalatable and unjust features of second- and third-wave feminism. Men’s faults, failings and foibles have been seized on and magnified into gruesome bills of indictment. Ideologue professors at our leading universities indoctrinate impressionable undergraduates with carelessly fact-free theories alleging that gender is an arbitrary, oppressive fiction with no basis in biology.

Is it any wonder that so many high-achieving young women, despite all the happy talk about their academic success, find themselves in the early stages of their careers in chronic uncertainty or anxiety about their prospects for an emotionally fulfilled private life? When an educated culture routinely denigrates masculinity and manhood, then women will be perpetually stuck with boys, who have no incentive to mature or to honor their commitments. And without strong men as models to either embrace or (for dissident lesbians) to resist, women will never attain a centered and profound sense of themselves as women.

From my long observation, which predates the sexual revolution, this remains a serious problem afflicting Anglo-American society, with its Puritan residue. In France, Italy, Spain, Latin America, and Brazil, in contrast, many ambitious professional women seem to have found a formula for asserting power and authority in the workplace while still projecting sexual allure and even glamor. This is the true feminine mystique, which cannot be taught but flows from an instinctive recognition of sexual differences. In today’s punitive atmosphere of sentimental propaganda about gender, the sexual imagination has understandably fled into the alternate world of online pornography, where the rude but exhilarating forces of primitive nature rollick unconstrained by religious or feminist moralism.

It was always the proper mission of feminism to attack and reconstruct the ossified social practices that had led to wide-ranging discrimination against women. But surely it was and is possible for a progressive reform movement to achieve that without stereotyping, belittling, or demonizing men. History must be seen clearly and fairly: obstructive traditions arose not from men’s hatred or enslavement of women but from the natural division of labor that had developed over thousands of years during the agrarian period and that once immensely benefited and protected women, permitting them to remain at the hearth to care for helpless infants and children. Over the past century, it was labor-saving appliances, invented by men and spread by capitalism, that liberated women from daily drudgery. (Source)

Just to evoke that absurd comment is worth the price of the book.

Yep. When a picture says it all about the State of the Consecrated Life and feminism in general.

I feel like I’m watching something from Mary Tyler Moore.

It bears mentioning that even when the women were being hosebeasts, none of those men did anything to them. Not a single hosebeast was harmed during the “protest,” and all of the men just continued to pray the rosary.  I’m not going to lie. I would’ve decked a hag. So I have to hand it to these men. Their restraint is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE. And commendable. And did I mention UNBELIEVABLE? Because they’re better people than me, obviously. Mainly because these women are freaking animals, and I’m beyond disgusted to share the same gender as them. (Source: Chicks on the Right)

I think this little episode did more damage to Feminism than all of the intellectual arguments can muster.
