The Vatican’s assertion of control over the policies of Caritas International should be recognized as a “palace revolution,” writes Jean-Marie Guénois of Le Figaro. By insisting that the agency must preserve a distinct Catholic identity, he observes approvingly, Pope Benedict has regained control of “an entire sector of the activity of the Catholic Church.” (Source)

Benedict the Buster!  The man is taking no prisoners.  In the past, I have spoken approvingly of what this bishop or that bishop has done because it’s what they should have done, but Benedict is cut from a completely different cloth.  When Socon or Bust can say “Whoa there Holy Father…you’re going too fast!”, you know things are going in the right direction.

You go, Holy Father, and don’t stop for anyone.
