Europe and Hungary will only be renewed if they focus on traditions of praying and working, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said during a ceremony marking renovation works at the church of Ják in west Hungary. The new Constitution introduced last year includes the Christian roots of Hungary’s statehood at the behest of voters who brought Fidesz to power in 2010, Orbán said, adding that “we consider the path of St Stephen to be our own”.,,,(Source)
Hungary is going one way, the rest of the world is going the other. Guess where you should make your financial investments, if you want to have something for retirement?
At the government’s own request, a federal appellate court Friday dismissed the Obama administration’s appeal of an order that stopped the president from enforcing his abortion-pill mandate against a Bible publisher. The administration’s retreat marks the first total appellate victory on a preliminary injunction in any abortion-pill mandate case…(Source)
First victory. Time to up the ante and go for the jugular. Keep pushing.
But make no mistake, if Mr. Scheer had allowed the status quo to stand, the last vestiges of independence on the backbenches in the House of Commons would have disappeared. The convention that the party whips dictate who says what during Question Period and members’ statements would have been confirmed — the status of backbenchers as disposable as that of Star Trek redshirt security officers on landing-party duty. Hahaha. That’s true! The poor bozo security officers on Star Trek always got knocked off.
Good one for Andrew Scheer. Putting his Catholic Faith in action. This is a great day for freedom indeed.

1. I’m hearing there has not been enough public response to the kaibosh of M-408 to justify being concerned about it in PMO. If you have a Twitter account, please consider making your opinion known on M-408 being deemed unvotable to the committee that will assess the appeal as well as the Prime Minister.
I know I’m never sure how much impact something like “Tweeting” has, but at the very least, I’d get great satisfaction from drowning out the one or two very rude, very vocal pro-abortion tweeters! J
Our very tolerant society where Christians are now the new niggers, second-class citizens.
On the positive side, the “hopey changey, spirit of vatican II” clerics who currently run the show in Christendom will quit, retire early,or be pushed out. Either way, only those devoted to the truth…to the point of complete loss of status, position, material wealth, and even death…will preserve their salvation. It’s the price to pay for being lukewarm for the past 50 years.
Our future leaders will be lions. They will have no choice. And the current regime will be just a historical nightmare
…Agree or disagree with Woodworth’s stance, the man has a right to speak when invited to an event. He is a lawmaker, being paid by taxpayers. If you don’t like his stance, debate him, protest him, or please campaign against him. But don’t stomp and pout and refuse to let him speak. It makes everyone look foolish, not just you.
It is troubling that this is not the first time a controversial speaker has been shouted down by University of Waterloo students….(Source)
Just another example of the state of “higher learning” in this country. When I was a kid, we used to have an expression for school kids like this: Touched in the head
The problem is today, the inmates are running the asylum.
…Canada’s top court has released an unanimous decision today that critics say has struck a monumental blow against freedom of speech, opinion, and religion across the country. The court ordered the defendant, a Catholic pro-family activist with a reputation for intense activism, not only to pay a fine, but also to pay court costs which could amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
“It’s a bad day,” said Bill Whatcott to LifeSiteNews.com in an interview. “The ruling and the reasoning [behind it] is terrible. They actually used the concept that truth is not a defense.”
“It’s worse than I expected. What it means is that my life is over, as I know it. It means that the Christian Church is going to be libel for speaking the truth,” he said…. (Source)
Religious Freedom is an important issue. But, it’s the WRONG defense in the fight over Obama’s mandate.
And here is a perfect explanation why that is so, found in one of the comments in this YouTube clip:
“…As you may know Jehovah Witnesses do not believe in blood transfusions. Do you think a Jehovah Witness business owner should be allowed to deny blood transfusions to their employees?”
How would we answer that from a purely religious freedom perspective? Not very well. We only win, ultimately, on the SUBSTANCE of the issue at hand which means getting into the nitty gritty of the morality of things.
Blood transfusions are morally licit. Contraceptives are not. If we convince people of these truths, we win.
We will never win on the basis of religious freedom alone. It’s a waste of time.
Something tells me that God is going to take down 2 huge problems in the Church today: contraception and a false idea of religious freedom. I don’t know how He’s going to do it, but I have a strong belief that that’s what going down here is some mysterious way.
…”The appeal process is you may request a formal appeal,” she added. “We then you will met [sic] with myself [sic], the vp [sic], and possibly student affairs and advocacy. You will be able to state why you should feel like you should get club status we will present out [sic] opinion and then we will have a review session.”… (Source)
Lady, lady, lady…after you figure out what free speech is all about, maybe you should take some remedial English language courses.
I also wonder if they’ve stopped taking the heavy drugs that they were on when they got Routhier to testify on their behalf.
Still no apology from the bishops for their betrayal, as per the standard operating procedures. Bishops grovel over the ranking of which politically correct issue they should apologize about, but when it comes to PROFOUND ISSUES like human life and Catholic education, a simple “sorry” is not in their vocabulary.
This is another very good reason to dissolve Episcopal Conferences, or at the very least, prohibit them from speaking on anything important unless they have the Pope’s direct approval.
