The next Autumn 40 Days for Life Campaign is fast approaching and is scheduled to start on Tuesday September 25.  For the Ottawa campaign, please check out the details here and sign up early and often.  We already have a number of Parishes volunteering to take whole days (7AM-7PM).  Please consider having your church or group pick a day and fill in those empty slots.

I have some really amazing news to share with you.  But first a little background.  When we were starting up the Campaign here in Ottawa back in 2008, there was no automated Calendar where participants could register their vigil participation. Instead, us vigil co-ordinators were forced to use conventional e-mail communication and then update a website for individual participants’ times.  Needless to say, this was an arduous and time consuming task.  For the second campaign, a Pro Lifer from Winnipeg developed a nifty Calendar using Google Docs which I adopted for the Ottawa campaign and which we continue to use to this very day.  After posting the existence of this program on the 40 Days for Life Discussion Board, a number of Campaigns around North America contacted me to see if I could help them implement it.  And I did.  Some time later, 40 Days for Life Headquarters went ahead and developed their own Calendar system and most of these Campaigns that I had helped originally opted to go with the official calendar system.  Good for them, but I stuck with the “old faithful” Google Docs’ one which has its advantages and disadvantages to the official one used by 40 Days for Life.

Anyhow, as I said, all of those Campaigns decided to go with the New Calendar system except one — the Campaign in Ocala Florida.  Since 2008, Penn H. – the Vigil Manager – has been contacting me to update the Calendar system and make some minor adjustments as each new campaign started.  So over the years we have developed an internet friendship of sorts.  Anyhow, here is the e-mail that I received from her on the weekend. Check it out!

God HAS answered all the prayers  . . . today (First Friday, 9/7/2012), a For Sale sign was placed in front of Ocala’s Women’s Center, the local abortion facility where so many 40 Dayers and many others have prayed over the course of years for its closure.  TODAY God has shown us His loving answer.  Please pray in thanksgiving and for other closings.

Now what do you say about that!  I’ve always considered Ocala, Florida our sister city in the U.S. in the 40 Days for Life Family.

Let us pray that God is moving within the Family to shut down these abortion clinics and that the next one on His stop is Ocala’s sister city in Ottawa, Canada.

These abortion mills are dropping off like dead flies.  You watch, America will one day wake up and there won’t be anymore around.

And Canada is not too far behind, either.
