“Piss Christ” is not Mr. Serrano’s only photograph depicting an object immersed in his urine — there are also replicas of Michelangelo’s “Moses,” Myron’s “Discobolus” and the Winged Victory of Samothrace, as well as a statue of Satan, similarly situated. But none have generated as much controversy….(Source)

Indeed.  Where’s the one with Muhammed, Mr. Pisshead?  Forgot that one did you?  Gonna get to it soon, are you?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Liberals only respect violent religionists.  That’s why they can go after every religion except the religion of pieces.

That’s a really great message that they are sending, isn’t it?  We only respect those religions who will cut off our heads if we offend them.

It shows them up for the cowards they are and also sets a playing field of death for the rest of us.

Their intellects are as dark as a car full of arseholes.

Here.

Don’t ever, ever, ever, ever, ever give up. No matter what.

You watch. One day, abortion will be defeated. And God is using us, inadequate and poor instruments that we are.

Believe it. It’s happening right now before our eyes. Lift up your heads. Be of good courage. For if we persevere, we will enjoy the bounty!

  • Day 2 – Forgiveness Not Revenge September 28, 2012
It was cold and sunny at Ground Zero at about 11 am when I showed up. I brought my youngest daughter with me in a stroller. She was very good — she did not fuss for a whole hour as I walked back and forth on Bank Street. More»

…This is not the first time Egan has stepped away publicly from the liberal template set by the majority of English Catholic bishops, nicknamed the “magic circle” in the press. Before his elevation to the episcopate, Fr. Philip Egan gave a talk in 2009 in which he said that Humanae Vitae, the 1968 papal encyclical on birth control that is thought to have launched a global revolution in the Catholic Church, was “infallible teaching” and therefore must be upheld by all Catholics…(Source)

Oh the tide is turning because it has to.    I want to be so proud of our bishops again.  Can we not have just one bishop like this, Holy Father? Just one?

Instead all we’ve got is Winnipeg Statement devotees who keep propping up Development & Peace.

This Sunday is the annual collection for the “Needs of the Church in Canada”. The name sounds really nice and all, but it’s really just a collection to pay for the bureaucracy at the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB). Oh, and it also pays for the contraceptives and morning-after pills of the CCCB staff. Didn’t you know?

You may recall that a journalist from the Montreal newspaper La Presse broke a story a few months ago in which he reported that the CCCB covers contraceptives and the morning-after pill as part of its health insurance plan for staff. The story was published in February 2012, in the wake of the controversy in the US whereby Obama had just announced the HHS Mandate on birth control. Perhaps the journalist was curious to see how Canadian bishops were positioned on this issue in light of the robust opposition of the US bishops to Obama. Read the rest of this entry »

Back in July, Vox Cantoris broke the story that convicted child molester Fr. Ed MacNeil was listed on the parish directory at St. Joseph’s parish in Ottawa. Socon or Bust subsequently wrote about it here and here.

Well, his name is no longer on the directory, as you can see (or not see) here. Gone, like a Max Malini vanishing trick. So either he got the boot or the site was scrubbed.

An archived version of the parish directory dating to July 2011 can be seen here (backup link here).

To be continued…

But not only our politicians are cowards, but we, the Church. Where was the mobilization of the faithful before this motion? Where were the numerous press conferences and releases and commotion in the media? Where is the outrage at the incredulous results of this vote? Where is the Church defending, not only human life, but the souls of those whose eternal salvation is in jeopardy for supporting if not promoting abortion? Cowards! We are cowards! Our silence is our judgment; our apathy our indictment. Christ have mercy! Christ have mercy! Jesus promised to spit out the lukewarm, perhaps, giving them an opportunity to repent. But cowards will have no place in the Kingdom of God:

The victor will inherit these gifts, and I shall be his God, and he will be my son. But as for cowards, the unfaithful, the depraved, murderers, the unchaste, sorcerers, idol-worshipers, and deceivers of every sort, their lot is in the burning pool of fire and sulfur, which is the second death. (Rev 21:7-8)

But Mark, didn’t you get the single, muted press release from the CCCB?  It’s totally understandable that they were not more attentive considering the other really important issues of our time like – uh – social justice!  Besides, they’ve sold out to the man.

Hot damn!  The internet is aflame with pro-life momentum. I just can’t keep up with it all.

Radical Feminists (male or female):  selfish pro-aborts who demand females die so they may enjoy their sexual promiscuity….all in the name of “women’s rights”.

…Rona Ambrose is a better feminist than the women who criticize her. She is one of the few people in power who is not afraid to call out culturally-motivated misogyny. The so-called feminists who upbraid her on the abortion file have made a pact with an intellectual devil. They have sold their feminist souls, repeatedly and pointedly ignoring the travails of their sisters from regions where women are devalued, in order to maintain the by-now corroded principle of unregulated and uninterrogated abortion. Any woman who defies the feminists’ dogma on abortion gets long rhetorical knives in the back. But these faux feminists should know that Ms. Ambrose is made of sterner stuff than the male politicians they are used to cowing…(Source)

Feminism is dead.

Bahahahaha…..pathetic but true.

….Ashamed? For what? Voting her conscience on one of the most important bioethical issues facing humanity? For supporting some measure of parliamentary courage in remedying a legislative vacuum that has existed in this country since the Supreme Court of Canada struck down our abortion law a quarter century ago?

Pro-choice militants cast abortion restrictions — at any stage of gestation — as a form of female slavery. And, perversely, they do this despite the fact that sex-selective abortion is eradicating millions of females from the earth every year — including some right here in Canada. Might it not be within the ambit of the Status of Women Minister to investigate whether the extermination of so many girl fetuses — including those viable outside the womb — is consistent with Canadian values?…(Source)

The logic of the other side’s arguments will ultimately sink them.  Who in their right mind would buy what they are selling?  I agree there is something to be ashamed of…but it’s not what Rona Ambrose represents.  It’s what the rabid feminists represent – a complete blindness to reality and the true feminine genius.  Hint to pro-abortionists:  you don’t become more “feminine” by killing what makes you (in large part) feminine. You don’t get to recreate and redefine what biology says you are.

….There are other lions too. Some of them will be highlighted at a Vatican II conference this weekend at Saint Paul’s University in Ottawa. The conference has been criticized as being something of an oldtimers’ game for theological dissenters. The presence of Gregory Baum, the former priest who at one time had a rewarding career proposing that the Church was wrong on just about every issue in which her teaching clashed with secular culture, set off alarm bells for those easily alarmed. He too was a peritus at the council. But at nearly 90 years old, Baum is a lion no longer. More than a theological force, he is now of principal interest as a relic of a time when the future of the Church was going to be an abrupt break with her past. Baum and his companions thought that Vatican II meant a new Church, adapted to the times and taking its lead from the ambient culture. The idea that the ambient culture of the late 1960s and 1970s was a special repository of wisdom was just one fatal flaw in that scheme.

The conference at Saint Paul’s may be rather light on the need of the Church to purify and convert the world. That will be the rather intense focus of the synod on the new evangelization to be held in Rome next month. The more relevant speakers this weekend in Ottawa will have the same focus, led by Cardinal Peter Turkson, the Ghanaian prelate now heading up the Holy See’s office for justice and peace. But the retired lions will also have their say, like old men gathering to tell the stories about how wise they were once, and how their wisdom lives on still. It’s polite to listen, as one throws a toothless lion a bone. (Source)

Meeeooooooooow.  I’m loving the above commentary.   The conference starts today with Tricky Dicky being one of the key note speakers.

The very day Canada’s Parliament rejected Stephen Woodworth’s motion to re-examine the definition of human life, a British Columbia Tory launched a new salvo with a motion calling on the House to condemn sex-selective abortion.

Just keep punching.  Sooner or later, the dyke is going to provide us an opening…and then BAM…she’s a whole new ball game.
